What is the Multi-Hazard Self-Assessment App?

The Multi-Hazard Self-Assessment App is an easy to use digital tool designed to help homeowners improve their home’s resilience against natural disasters, including bushfires, floods, cyclones, and storms.  

Built upon the existing expert Multi-Hazard Ratings expert assessment tool and extending the Bushfire Resilience Rating home self-assessment app, this new platform will provide science-backed, easy-to-follow guidance for making homes safer to multiple hazards. 

Why Use the Self-Assessment App? 

Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and severe. The Multi-Hazard Self-Assessment App will empower homeowners to take proactive steps to reduce risk, lower potential damage costs, and access insurance and mortgage benefits for resilient home upgrades. 

Launching in 2026

Multi-Hazard Self-Assessment App

With the app, users will be able to:

Understand their home’s vulnerabilities to different hazards.

Receive a customised resilience action plan tailored to their property. 

Access insurance and finance incentives for implementing resilience improvements.

Track their progress and continuously improve their home’s safety. 

How the App Will Work

Users will complete a guided assessment in around 30 minutes. 

The app will generate a personalised Resilience Rating based on home construction and materials, location, and environmental risk factors. 

Homeowners will receive tailored recommendations to strengthen their home against disasters. 

The app will connect users with available incentives, funding opportunities, and expert resources to take action.
