We bring experts, governments, industry, communities and financial investors together to help every Australian make their home safer.

The Resilient Building Council is a not-for-profit organisation funded by federal and state government grants, industry sponsorship and project consulting.

Over the last decade, RBC’s team of independent experts have developed the Resilience Ratings Scheme to measure the performance of buildings to bushfires, floods, cyclones, storms and heatwaves. The purpose of the Ratings Scheme is to help households know what to do, and to enable insurers, banks and markets to recognise and reward effective action.

Measurably reducing risk creates value for households, communities, industry, governments, markets & economies. Together, we can help all Australians make their homes safer and change our national story from one of risk to resilience.

Our partners are championing the systems change and large-scale innovation needed to achieve our common goal of adapting every Australian home for climate and disaster resilience.

Together, we’ll build stronger, thriving communities. Together, we’ll build stronger, thriving communities.

Our mission is to reduce the loss and suffering of communities by providing practical, tailored, actionable education to households to reduce the impacts of severe weather effects on homes. Many residents are facing multiple hazards and conflicting information, so we’re reconciling these issues to provide clarity for communities, industry and governments.
